Unacceptable Subsidy Proofs

Benefits Security Card Benefit security.gif

  • This card is issued by many different states, many of which Life Wireless is not authorized to do business in, and many different subsidy benefits are deposited upon it, some of which are not Lifeline-eligible subsidies. This is unacceptable because it is not possible to determine the state in which it was issued or the type of subsidy benefits that is deposited upon it.

Notice that it while it looks similar to the Kentucky SNAP EBT card, it is missing the Commonwealth Seal of Kentucky in the upper right-hand corner: Ky-looks-similar.gif

Direct Express Card Direct express.gif

  • Similar to the Benefits Security Card, this card is also issued by many different states, many of which Life Wireless is not authorized to do business in, and many different subsidy benefits are deposited upon it, some of which are not Lifeline-eligible subsidies. This is unacceptable because it is not possible to determine the state in which it was issued or the type of subsidy benefits that is deposited upon it.

EPPI Card Ga-eppi.gif

  • This card is used to load child support payments.

MediCARE Card MediCARE.gif

  • MediCAID and MediCARE are two completely different programs. MediCAID is income-based and a Lifeline-eligible subsidy in ALL states. MediCARE, an example of which is shown here, is age-based and therefore not a Lifeline-eligible program.

W.I.C. (Women, Infants, & Children) Card WIC.jpg

  • SNAP/Food Stamps and W.I.C. are two completely different programs. SNAP/Food Stamps is a Lifeline-eligible subsidy in ALL states. W.I.C. is not a Lifeline-eligible program in any Life Wireless-approved state and if someone is eligible for W.I.C., they are not eligible for SNAP/Food Stamps.

Unacceptable ID Proofs

Transit Authority ID's Mta.gifRta.gif

  • Most states and cities outsource the oversight of mass transit to private firms. Since these ID's are issued by private firms, that disqualifies them as government-issued.
